Nagahama Castle History Museum

The Nagahama Castle History Museum, located in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, introduces visitors to the history of Nagahama Castle, which was built by the warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi (the second “unifier of Japan”). Learn about the history and culture of Nagahama from the Warring States period (mid 1400s to early 1600s) through the Edo period (1603–1868), through exhibits of documents related to the castle and other items related to local history.
