Today, matcha, or powdered green tea, can be enjoyed at a number of traditional-style tearooms in Ishikawa. At some tea rooms, visitors can whisk their own matcha while participating in a tea ceremony. Reservations are usually required. Others are less formal and serve walk-invisitors matcha and traditional sweets in picturesque, traditional-style settings.
